Before we can finalize migration, we need to test it.
Go to the Source server list, tick the box next to your source server and then click on the Test and Cutover button and from the drop down menu select Launch test instance.
Confirm by clicking the Launch button that appears in a popup and wait for the test machine to be launched.
This testing process allows you to validate the conversion of the boot volume and to validate the network configuration of the target server that you defined in the EC2 Launch Template.
To see progress of the test launch, select the Migration dashboard and then click on the Job ID in the Lifecycle section to view the Job log
Wait for the Completed Status to show in the Details section at the top (it should take 5-10 minutes). You may need to refresh the page from time to time to check progress, although the Job Log should update automatically.
Go back to Source Servers, click on your server Hostname, then Test and Cutover -> Mark as “ready for cutover”
Confirm by clicking the Continue on the popup to confirm that the testing was succesful and that the testing instance can be terminated.
Now you are ready to launch the cutover instance.
